Structural Engineering Collaboration Services (SECS) provides professional structural engineering services for a variety of market sectors including commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and residential. We focus on bringing efficiency to architectural projects by coordinating with the building’s mechanical systems, implementing desired construction practices, and conserving construction materials. We are experienced with both the traditional design-bid-build approach as well as the design-build process.

Licensed Structural Engineering
Our structural engineers have a construction background, which is reflected in our designs that often save time during construction. We are currently licensed in multiple states and have a record with the NCEES to quickly obtain a PE or SE license in all 50 states (except California). We are fully licensed and insured.

Collaboration
Our team uses effective communication and REVIT to coordinate with architects and the various engineering disciplines. We assure that the geotechnical report and civil engineering information is integrated into the foundation design. We work with MEP teams to help route ducts, pipes, and conduit. We quickly process shop drawings for the contractors and fabricators.

3-story plus loft 23 unit wood framed mixed-use building bearing on precast concrete framing over an underground parking garage.
SSM Health Clinic - Beaver Dam, WI
39,800sf 2-story steel framed family medicine and specialty clinic. This project received the InBusiness Commercial Design Award.
Public Library Addition - Watertown, WI
15,085sf addition plus a 26,440sf renovation to a registered historical building from 1907. The new addition included a new elevator that serves the original building as well as the addition from 1986.
Grand Living Senior Housing - West DesMoines, IA
5-story wood framed Type IIIB construction bearing on precast framing over an underground parking garage.
UW Credit Union Branch Office - Fitchburg, WI
2-story composite steel framed office building with an additional level below grade.
The Marling Apartments Mixed-Use - Madison, WI
4-story wood framed mixed-use building with a post-pensioned podium on E. Washington Ave. This project also included a 5 level precast parking structure.
Edgewood Performing Arts Center: Addition and Replacement Theater - Madison, WI
This was a 23,400sf single story steel framed addition. The project also involved replacing the existing auditorium.
UW Credit Union Corporate Headquarters - Madison, WI
3-story addition that includes a 2-story connector to the existing building. This is a structural steel framed building with steel composite floor decks. The roof was designed for solar panels and a green roof.
Bloomington Public Library - Bloomington, IL
3 steel framed additions to the existing library: One of the additions is 3-story, one of the additions is a 2-story meeting space, and the last additon is a single story. This project also includes a separate 2 level precast parking structure.
Carpenters Union Apprenticeship Training Center - East Moline, IL
65,000sf 2-story composite steel structure with composite steel floor decking and insulated tilt-up wall panels supporting steel bar joists. This project included a crane bay.
Carpenters Union Hall Office Building - East Moline, IL
18,000sf 2-story steel framed with steel bar joists bearing on insulated tilt-up wall panels. This project involved custom connections for interior and exterior cantilevered glulam framing.
Wilderness Take Flight Theater - Wisconsin Dells, WI
24,000sf 4-level steel braced framed 4D theater addition featuring 3 levels of 20 seats that cantilever out. The roof bar joists are designed to support the theater equipment. The floors are framed with composite steel beams and steel decking.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities - Madison, WI
42,000sf 3-story wood framed addition, nearly doubling the size of the original facility.
Market West Apartments - Middleton, WI
Three 4-story wood framed buildings (239 Units) bearing on precast framing and connected with an underground parking garage. One of the buildings has a parking garage with 2 levels below grade. This project also included a clubhouse building.
